The play is about Christopher Columbus and his lost compass. He needs the compass to sail and to draw a map. He wants to find a new route to India for the transport of spices.Then, the queen arrives and she learns about the lost compass of Columbus, and she decides to visit the astrologer who says that the compass is in a museum in Bristol in 2011. Then, the astrologer has an idea and he sends him to the future.

When Columbus arrives to the future, he finds a lot of strange things such as the bus stop, the umbrella, the mobile phone, the Coca Cola…He goes to a restaurant and he meets the waitress who shows him a plane magazine and the restaurant’s menu. He orders cod with chips and a Coca Cola. Later, he tells the lady he wants to steal the compass from the museum and he explains to her the story of his life. At the beginning she doesn’t believe him but then she realizes it is true and she helps him.So they go to the museum at night and they manage to take the compass and Columbus returns to the past. He brings Coca Cola and the plane magazine as souvenirs to his friends and he tells them all the adventure.

The play finishes with the three characters having a toast to the future.

El proper curs 2011-2012 els nostres alumnes d’ESO i Batxillerat participaran en The Fonix. Aquest concurs interescolar que té tres fases, local, territorial i final, consta de diferents proves que seleccionen els estudiants de puntuació més alta de cada nivel educatiu. Els exercicis consisteixen en diverses tasques amb activitats de vocabulari, reading and writing, a més a més d’una prova oral.

Què és el PELE?

El PELE és el Pla Experimental de Llengües Estrangeres que el Departament d'Educació va iniciar el curs 2005-06.

El PELE s'adreça als centres educatius públics i concertats de Primària i Secundària amb l’objectiu d’afavorir el plurilingüisme i la mobilitat ciutadana.

Diferents modalitats de PELE Secundària:

Modalitat A (ensenyament i aprenentatge de tots o alguns continguts d’una ANL en LE, mínim 35 hores)

Modalitat B (treball per projectes en la LE)

Modalitat C (competències de producció, recepció i comunicació oral)

Es tracta d’una acreditació tant pel centre que imparteix el PELE com pel professor.

El Centre d’Estudis Roca es planteja portar a terme la Modalitat A.

Cal anar molt en compte perquè:

els alumnes han de tenir un nivell lingüístic adequat als continguts de la ANL (Àrea No Lingüístiques) que es volen treballar,

cal trobar l’equilibri entre els continguts lingüístics i els de la ANL. No podem baixar el nivell de la ANL perquè la llengua vehicular és una llengua estrangera.

Què farem al Centre d’Estudis Roca?

1R d’ESO/ Ciències Socials 3R TRIMESTRE (35h)

During the 2nd term, the students of 4th of ESO went to see a film in English. The film was the Social Network. We went to the Icaria Cinemas. We enjoyed the film very much, but the actors speak English quite fast. I hope to go to the cinema or to the theatre with my mates and my teachers next term.
